Here is some information to assist visitors with preparation for the 2026 Weir Rose Bowl.

Coffee Cart

There will be a coffee cart operating throughout the event based beside the Event HQ building.

Dog owners

Please be aware that St Peters School does not allow dogs on its grounds.

Food

There will be some food onsite - one food truck, and St Peter's School is running a fundraiser.

If you would like more options, there is a café based next door to the school in the Velodrome (The Bikery), and another just 200m down the road at the Garden Centre (Clementine Café). Cambridge is a short drive away.
 
Gazebo

You can put up a gazebo if you want too, but please place it in an area away from the playing fields. If you’re unsure where you can erect your gazebo, check with one of our staff who will be onsite to help. We recommend that you take it down overnight if the forecast suggests a windy night.

Parking

Parking next to and around the Boarding Houses is only available for those staying onsite. There will be a number of other parking areas available closer to the playing fields and we will have people to guide you to these allocated parking spaces. Please do not park on grass verges or try to access areas that have been closed off.

Warm-Ups

Please do not warm up on the playing fields, and also keep off the fields when games are not being played. We want to keep them in good condition for everyone throughout the 3 days. There are spaces beside the playing fields that should provide enough room for your team to warm up or have a kick around if they want too.

Game Schedule

The draw is available HERE.

For those planning their arrival on the first day, the first games start at 11 for some teams. Please check the draw for your start time. 

The first round of games for the U15 Girls kicks off at 11am on Saturday morning. This is a little earlier than previous years but is needed to enable us to get through all the games over the 3 days. There are 3 games scheduled at 11am on Saturday for the BYE teams from U13 Girls age group. We have done this to ensure that each U13 Girls team plays 6 games over the 3 days.

The U12 Boys and U14 Boys (Pool A) kick off at 12:20pm on Saturday, with the U14 Boys (Pool B) having their first game at 3:00pm on Saturday. 

 
Manager/Coach Meeting

We will be holding 3 separate Managers/Coaches meetings on Saturday 3rd October at 10am, 11am, and 12pm. These will be held upstairs in the Event HQ and should only take 15-20mins. Please ensure that your team has a representative at the meeting so we can check team contact details, and also give you your Weir Rose Bowl 2026 pins. 

Results

We have designed the format for the Weir Rose Bowl to remove the “win at all costs” approach and encourage coaches/players to focus on good performance and providing fair playing opportunities for all of their players. To support this, we will not be displaying the results for the u12 Boys and u13 Girls age groups.

The u14 Boys and u15 Girls age groups will be a tournament format with pool play and finals to determine the winners of the Weir Rose Bowl trophies. The winning u14 Boys & u15 Girls teams will be presented with the Weir Rose Bowl trophies at the end of their final game on Monday. Medals will be presented to the winning teams and the runners-up teams. 
 
Expected Behaviour

It is our expectation that all team coaches/managers at the Weir Rose Bowl will fully support the purpose of the event and create an enjoyable learning environment for all participants. We also accept that football raises the passion and competitiveness in people. We ask that you take responsibility for the enjoyment and learning value this event offers, not only for the young players but also for the young referees. Any abusive or bad behaviour from coaches or supporters will not be tolerated and may affect the respective club’s involvement in future events.

Referees
Weir Rose Bowl 2026 incorporates a Referee Development programme where youth referees from across the regions have an opportunity to grow their respective skills under the watchful eyes of regional Referee coaches. We ask that all participants at Weir Rose Bowl provide a positive and enjoyable experience for these referees.
